Archive boxes withstand the test of time
Professional archiving is a passion.
Take the two types of Merak boxes. They are water resistant and protect their contents against oxidation. For each batch of boxes, the cardboard composition, the puncture and collapse resistance, as well as the inherent acidity are all tested and noted and recorded for reference. Extreme measures? We don’t think so.

Up to 40% space saving
A standard Merak box didn’t get its dimensions by some coincidence. It had to be manageable by the customer. Endless testing with all available sizes of paper and binders brought about this form. A few tips for saving even more space.
-
Ring binders with the wide back pointed up?
Neatly ordering all the ring binders with their back facing up may
look nice, but the result is a lot of wasted space as well as the
shifting of the contents. Using an alternating placement you
immediately save 25% of the space usage in each box. Not worth the
trouble?! Think again; because with Merak you pay only the
variable cost for the actual volume of space in use. Worth
checking after all?
-
What value is there in storing the binders? A
plastic binder system is equally practical for documents that are
seldom required. And does away with the need to always be buying
new folders.
-
Larger boxes? Impractical! The use of
super-sized boxes may possibly reduce the handling costs with the
number of access activities, but you won’t be happy about it. The
larger boxes are not manageable. And what do you do with such
boxes if you ever decide to move to another external archive
manager?

Sealing archive boxes
Do you prefer a system of sealing for certain cases or boxes? Then that happens when they are picked up, in your presence. The seal numbers are then immediately listed on the pick-up list and later in your inventory.
Random stacking of the archive boxes
Every standard box is assigned a location upon arrival in the Merak archive center. Not according to the customer, the acting warehouse supervisor or the time of arrival, but in function of the available space and the weight of the box. So the boxes from a single sending are spread randomly around the facility, and that is good. A busy warehouse worker has other things to be occupied with than snooping for good luck through hundreds of unmarked boxes!
